What we do:
SIL is a nonprofit that works with people with disabilities, veterans, and seniors to maximize their independence. Our programs include in-home care, accessibility services, and transportation services to keep individuals actively engaged in society.
Why we’re great:
SIL’s programs are cross-disability and cross-generational in seven counties. We offer senior case management, cooking classes, work readiness programs, assistive technology, and durable medical equipment at no cost to people in need.
Why does your organization deserve community financial support?
People with disabilities and seniors are the most medically expensive and largest parts of our population. The average cost of a nursing home is $5000/month. It costs less than $900 per month for a person to live in the community with supports and services.
