What we do:
Room at the Inn is a temporary winter shelter, providing a warm and safe place to sleep for homeless adults. The shelter, which is hosted by Columbia churches, operates from early December through mid-March and is open between 7 PM–7 AM.
Why we’re great:
Our shelter sites provide safety and basic needs for Columbia’s most vulnerable residents. Room at the Inn is a low threshold shelter, which means that our doors are open to homeless adults who may not qualify for services elsewhere.
Why does your organization deserve community financial support?
Growing out of Columbia faith communities, we continue to rely on churches as our shelter sites. Room at the Inn volunteers come from churches, service groups, and citizens–all working together to provide a community solution to a community issue.
List of volunteer and in-kind needs
During the shelter season, we will need to fill more than 500 volunteer shifts.
