What we do:
CMHF flies veterans of WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War to Washington, DC, at no cost to them, so they may reflect at their respective memorials. The trip offers veterans a chance to celebrate their service in the fellowship of other veterans.
Why we’re great:
CMHF has flown nearly 3,500 veterans to Washington. The organization involves hundreds of volunteers. Our veterans tell us the Honor Flight is the greatest day of their lives, allowing them to put the past in its place and to heal the wounds of war.
Why does your organization deserve community financial support?
More than simply offering a sight-seeing trip, CMHF is changing lives as veterans receive the gratitude and respect they have been denied for so many years. Nearly 500 veterans remain on our waiting list. The cost of a flight is nearly $100,000.
List of volunteer and in-kind needs
CMHF welcomes volunteers to serve as guardians on the flights and to staff our events.
