SCHOLAR Clinic

Have you ever broken a pair of glasses and had to go without? Imagine being a child without a pair of glasses, unable to see in class, read a book or see your friends and family smile.  

Unfortunately, for many students at Columbia Public Schools eye exams and glasses feel out of reach. This is because they can't afford it, don't have health insurance, or can't find a provider who accepts Medicaid. Language differences can also make it hard for them to get help. 

SCHOLAR Clinic's eye care services make it easier for Columbia Public School students to take care of their vision. As a school-based clinic, we're helping kids stay in school and making things easier for their teachers and parents. We charge on a sliding scale, and for the nearly 50% of students who are eligible for free or reduced lunches, services are provided free of charge. We also offer translation services to make sure everyone is heard and understood.
