CoMo Preservation

Founded in 2022, CoMo Preservation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization with the mission to preserve the historic architecture of Columbia, Missouri. Our volunteer-run team is passionate about promoting the awareness, appreciation and preservation of our historic properties, neighborhoods and landscapes through education, advocacy and restoration.

Our goals are to:

+Promote the importance and benefits of historic preservation; 

+Celebrate the history of Columbia’s historic properties;

+Empower others to advocate for historic preservation in Columbia;

+Provide resources to support historic property owners.

• Walking Tours to share the stories surrounding our city's historic properties

• Website with resources such as historic home maintenance, how to research the history of a property

• Social media with information on historic buildings and ways to promote preservation in our community

• Monthly Events featuring a guest speaker on local history and historic preservation topics.  Check out our archives.

• Network for people who are passionate about historic preservation

• Volunteer opportunities to make an impact in our community to preserve the spaces and places we love for future generations

• Partnering with local organizations to leverage resources in preserving our unique architectural heritage
