A Little History

Room at the Inn (RATI) began in 2008 as an interfaith organization that housed unsheltered adults during Boone County's cold winter months. Various local churches committed to hosting guests at various times throughout the winter months. 

Today

Thanks to donations from private citizens, faith organizations, local businesses, the City of Columbia and Boone County funding, in the fall of 2023 Room at the Inn began operating as a year round shelter. And what a blessing!

With the time, talent, and resources of these individuals and local organizations, RATI continues to provide a safe, warm place to sleep in addition to providing breakfast and an evening meal for our guests. 

What your donation means to RATI

Generosity from past donations has provided RATI with the ability to support unsheltered individuals in Boone County to once again become self-reliant. 

Additionally, a $25 donation will purchase six gallons of milk, or five fleece blankets, or five 3lb bags of clementines, or 12 toothbrushes. Every dollar donated is used wisely and is truly appreciated.
