A Call To Serve (ACTS) International

ACTS partners with volunteers in the country of Georgia to save and extend young lives through 1) educating children and teens with diabetes, empowering them to self-manage their health through diet, activity and blood glucose monitoring and 2) training rural medical professionals how to resuscitate at-risk newborn infants and stabilize them for transport to a larger medical center.

For more than three decades, ACTS and Mid-Missourians have made a difference in the lives of children and families in Columbia's sister city of Kutaisi and the country of Georgia. These efforts have saved the lives of infants and diabetic children, provided humanitarian aid and created educational and cultural partnerships to promote greater understanding between our two countries.

With your support, the ACTS-Lions Ronald James Georgian Diabetic Children's Camp will provide life-extending education next summer that is not available otherwise to youngsters from this poorest area of Europe.  ACTS also will move toward launching a new hospital-based training center to teach doctors and nurses how to save the lives of newborn babies who are struggling to breathe.
